Executive Sous Chef

Chef Suzie is a Southern California native whose heart has always been in the kitchen. She spent her childhood cooking with her family and under the tutelage of her father, generated an interest in exploring different regional cuisines.

In 2007, Chef Suzie earned a B.A. in Applied Mathematics from The University of California, San Diego. She worked briefly in the insurance industry yet quickly realized a career in insurance would be unsatisfying. Changing gears she enrolled into the prestigious Culinary Institute of America, St. Helena and in 2011 earned an A.A. in Culinary Arts. Upon graduation, Chef Suzie externed at the Michelin starred Ubuntu in Napa Valley. Shortly thereafter she began working with Hudson House Catering. In the summer of 2012 Suzie returned to San Diego and joined the team at A.R. Valentin where she honed her skills under Chef Jeff Jackson. Suzie continued to develop her skills and was hired on as the Executive Chef at Solterra Winery and Kitchen in Encinitas, Ca. At Solterra, she revamped the menu and elevated its cuisine specializing in farm to table, locally sourced ingredients.

Additionally, in 2013, Chef Suzie competed and won Food Network’s “Chef Wanted with Anne Burrell.” Following her stint at Solterra, Chef Suzie moved to the San Francisco Bay Area to join the CFC team as an Executive Sous Chef.
